There is nothing quite like grey - much maligned, it is in fact, one of the most glorious colours you can use in interiors. It blurs boundaries, is sophisticated, rustic, warming and quite frankly, makes my heart skip a beat. In fact this Easter, David and I are going 'grey' mad and painting our bedroom in Farrow and Ball's Down Pipe, and a wall in our daughter's room, and adding our Dandelion Fields wallpaper (from our kids interiors company Funky Little Darlings) on her focal wall.
Grey really does add depth and warmth and so many colours work as accents. Classic white and natural wood creates a more contemporary, modern look, and gorgeous mustards, vivid oranges, petrol blue add lovely layers. Try using it - start with a soft grey if you feel daunted... Sandersons Griege Light (103) is an amazing soft grey, or be more daring and choose Farrow and Ball's Hardwick White (no. 5) which has lovely warm brown hues before going full pelt into Farrow and Ball's Down Pipe... once you start, you won't be able to stop yourself! It is addictive!
