I came across these two delightful images whilst doing some research for a project - the design for a Coffee Shop in our village. Upholding and working with the existing natural elements in interiors gives honesty and integrity to design.
The rough, natural stone walls in this living room looks fabulous with the softly textured stone tiles on the floor. The colour palette of naturals is continued with the stack of rough sawn wood and battered leather armchair and amplified by the black woodburner and skin rug on the floor. A white Mies van der Rohe Barcelona chair would look equally stunning in this environment.
The bathroom, below, with it's rough sawn door and wood treatment is perfectly balanced with the smooth, mellow tones of the granite and sleek walnut cantilevered counter top. A large flush fitting mirrored wall, gleaming contemporary basin with chrome fittings makes this bathroom a delight. I'd love to add a nice spikey cacti to finish!
