A few years ago, I was commissioned to make large, bespoke mirrors, intricately painted with Medieval and Celtic imagery. Gilded and aged, they looked fabulous and I loved making them. My focus is now on distressed, industrial surfaces which has inspiring me to revisit these mirrors, but with a modern edge! Painted in several shades of old white and putty greys, these are then overlaid with darker pigments, and finally bold text is hand printed. The whole piece is then distressed by rubbing through to expose the layers beneath. For a sneak preview of one of the new designs see below.
