Kitchen inspiration

We are getting ready to re-design our kitchen and I have gone from wanting sleek, linear white 'all drawer' units to a more 'industrial rustic' look. The longer we leave it, the more my taste fluctuates between styles. Funny how I can walk into a clients home and instinctively know what will look best... but for me, I find it so hard to nail the style because, as a designer, the options are limitless.

I totally love the Dutch kitchen on this image and it has provided the most inspiration to date. From the concrete floor to the simple black units and floating shelf, it works brilliantly against a neutral backdrop. Our walls are painted in a soft grey and the use of black will look fab (plus I have a job lot of F&B Railings paint left over from our bedroom). The look is softened by a simple arrangement of everyday kitchen accessories in a mix of white porcelin and natural wood with oils and crockery all on display. It just looks effortlessly chic and stylish. The industrial lighting works well too and we will keep our kitchen pendants... reclaimed from a cow barn.
